JULIA CAMPBELL AND FRIENDS
March 2007. In preparation for the coming of
the US Ambassador Kristie Kenney to Donsol
Sorsogon. Julia and her friends came to the
e-kubo: Environment Center, in Dancalan, Donsol
Sorsogon and helped paint the Environment Center.
With them are the youth of Dancalan and the
SOS V4E ( the Scouts of St. Joseph Vounteers
For Environment).
It was planned earlier that the good ambassador will visit the place, hence excitement and fun. The Environment Center: Bahay kalikasan or the e-kubo will be blessed/ inaugurated with our special guest: the US Ambassador Kristie Kenney.
This Center is a project of the SOS V4E and funded by Thomas Waters Foundation through the Peace Corps. Ms. Julia Campbell was responsible for soliciting the fund with the environment group SOS V4E as the lead group.
The Local Government Unit of Donsol ( Municipal Level) gave Seventy Thousand Pesos ( Php 70,000.00) for the project and the Barangay Council of Dancalan donated the lot.
The dream of Julia is for the people, especially the youth to have a venue for Environment Education. In fact, she with another PCV is preparing for the modules that will be used in the Environment Education. Julia’s noble dream became a reality; Fifty (50) persons, participated in the Youth Environment Seminar (April 12-15) held in the Center: the e-kubo. This seminar is a facilitated/funded by the WWF Donsol led by Mr. Ruel Pine.
SOS V4E Youth and other youth participated and enjoyed this activity. More activities will follow.

When we received the word from the WWF
that we will have a Dialogue with the
US Ambassador Kristie Kenney
Everyone became excited and some preparation were
made. What was so exciting was the interest given
to the Environment Programs in the locality,
especially the endeavors of the SOS V4E and
other Youth participants to the Youth Environment
Seminar.
Such interests in the environment programs is so
inspiring especially in times where people seem to forget the importance of Environment Protection.
Donsol which is named as the whale shark capital of the world, need to work hard in order to maintain the clean habitat for the whale sharks. Even in this place there are so many threats to environment. There is the illegal logging, the illegal fishing, the intrusions of Commercial Fishing in the municipal waters that destroys the marine cycle of life. It has been noted in a study of the WWF that the municipal waters is already over-fished that is why most small fishers never get enough fish.
The SOS V4E undertook the re-education program for environment starting with the youth and with those directly affected by the environment problems.
Young and adult joined hand in hand in the protection of environment. But the task is enormous hence, the SOS V4E tries hard to bridge the people, the Church and the Government to have a concerted effort in the protection and care for the environment.
Indeed, if we look deeply, we can see that the ENVIRONMENT PROBLEM is the MAIN PROBLEM in our human society.

SAPYM in sides
SAPYM
My friends posted on blog and they have encouraged me to do the same for a more fascinating and exciting exchange of thoughts , feelings, updates on one's life.
Even religions are making the mockery of forgetting that we are humans and we have to live as such, for God never created us as angels but concretely humans.
I told myself that I have nothing to share no big events in my life, I am but a baryotic where even the lightning and thunders dare not go.
But looking back as I read others blogs, there is actually so much to share in life for life to be full is to be shared. we were not created for ourselves but we are other-oriented such is the reason for our physical make up.
Reading other blogs gives inspiration for life. There is indeed so much mysteries, wonders if we only open up ourselves and became human beings as God has created us.
It's sad also when most of the times the sadness in life is so much feasted and the life is abandoned. This is the sad fate of our people today, we are forgetting the beauty and giftedness of our lives because we delve so much on the " fleeting" in life : as money. power, position and cannot go further to meet each one as human beings.
